Poems about Poetry

Poems about poems…by Mary McWilliams

Some think poetry a formula

Counting rhythm and syllables

I say poetry is fluid motion

Words come from within

Flow outward onto my page.

I may check  for typos,

My words may fall flat,

This much I know:

Poetry is an art form.

One to be preserved.

So I practice and explore

Different ways to express my soul~

Poetry seems to be

The easiest for me

A priceless gift~

One to be cherished.

Writing keeps me sane,

When nothing else does.

I write what comes naturally

My thoughts spilled out

For all to see

This is me

Poetry is my essence

It helps me believe

It lifts me up when I’m down

It gives me a voice

So even if no one hears~

Poetry is my livelihood

Count if you must

Poetry is simply

Me being me

What else can I say?

Poetry is my life~

Poured out for all to read.

That’s it for now 

Enjoy my poetry~….

Until…

My long lost love~

Poetry

I forgot all about you

When I needed you most

My buried treasure

Within, the whole journey

How can I express

A love like that?

…my wish

From my heart to yours.

May poetry ignite your soul.

Love,

Me

…and one more

Talk to you later~

That’s my pal,

Poetry

Word

Specifically

Targeted

To

Seek

Your

Soul

~Poetry

Sometimes poetry is

A gift from heaven above

A gem so fine

Some see a dove

I see what cannot be defined

I see your Light Eternal

I see other things as well

Be True

Don’t be that

Insurance company

Fools beyond compare!

Protecting their livelihood and continued hypocrisy

Perpetrators they are

Those who protect perpetrators, are perpetrators.

Don’t be that Church

Ever~

Poetry~

My fist love,

I missed you so~

Glad you came home.

Love,

Me

I write

Until my love

Is restored.
